Photography & Video: Ethan Edward
Ethan Edward is a self-taught, multi-disciplinary, award-winning artist specializing in Directing, Photography, Music Composition, and Screenwriting. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, (1996.) with his parent’s influence both being architects, he was bound to see through their lens of the world. This created an intelligence for him to see all objects of life as communication of space and energy early on.
When he was a child, he was selectively mute for the first 6 years of his educational life. This socially stunted him at first. However, it created a strong observer within him in the long term. This largely contributed to his creative voice and works as one of his strongest tools. His purpose in his work is to utilize communication in nonverbal forms. Using that angle of language as the template to bridge together the divinity with humanity.
His subjects range from human communication, liberation, self-actualization, and the inner child. The theme threaded through all of these subjects is to discover his true identity by navigating the unseen world via his art. In every project and team he works with, he will challenge the idea of how humans can connect deeper. It is practiced through more innovative forms of communication in the workspace, the team’s collective approach, and the art itself.
Language is an imperfect means of communication when it comes to an experience. It is the unseen elements of communication that we deeply feel and understand.
