JASON BLAIR
Jason Blair studied commercial art at the Colorado Institute of Art and fine art/graphic design at Long Beach City College.
He has had solo exhibits at the National Arts Club in NYC and at the artists studio in Long Island City. Group shows include Reis Studio. His photographs have been sold internationally in both independent retailers as well as Trader Joe’s and Ikea UK.
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Honestly, my art is primarily for me. It’s in my soul, it’s in me, it is me. It is how I experience the world. When I connect with my surroundings, I shoot. As I hone in on a specific topic, or the details, it becomes my subject. Whether it be the light, the texture, or the landscape as a whole, I settle into the experience of observing my subject. I connect. I respond to the nuances of the details. In essence, I become a part of it. That relationship is what I attempt to capture through the lens and it is what I wish others to experience.
